Special Tools Every Motorcyclist Should Own

2

We are talking about some accessories that you can use on your motorcycle to improve your safety, some of them more common than you thought.

How many times have you heard this phrase? : «On the motorcycle, the bodywork is you» . Although this intervention may sometimes seem impertinent, you are right that when you have a mishap on a motorcycle, you are much more exposed to impacts than in other vehicles.

That is why there are accessories, items, and tricks on the market to make your motorcycle trip a much safer transfer, either to avoid an accident or to minimize possible injuries. Take them into account.

Accessories that improve safety on the motorcycle

Helmet

As you well know, the helmet is mandatory. However, we strongly recommend that you wear a full-face helmet instead according to Motorrad Headset Test. A full-face helmet covers your entire head, so you'll be better protected. An open or jet helmet leaves too many areas of the face uncovered.

Jacket

From here, the rest of the accessories for motorcyclists are not mandatory. However, we believe that they are highly recommended because the injuries caused in the event of a fall are much less if you wear them.

An example is the motorcycle jacket , whether made of sanity or leather. It will prevent your upper body from being damaged: arms, torso, and back. Totally inescapable. You can choose between winter and summer motorcycle jackets , more or less ventilated, made of very good fabrics.

Pants

Likewise, the legs must be well protected with suitable pants that resist abrasion and have hard protection in critical areas such as the knees.

The jacket and trousers can be replaced by a full-length jumpsuit that performs the same functions as the separate suit. Moreover, they are usually more effective in one piece than in two.

Gloves

The hands are what usually go first to the ground to avoid the blow. Do not skimp on buying good summer or winter gloves that have protections for the knuckles and the rest of the hand and wrist areas.

Boots

The foot and ankle suffer a lot in motorcycle falls. We recommend that you protect these areas very well with motorcycle boots that can be more or less high, but that always pick up the foot and prevent impacts from doing much damage to the foot.

Back protectors and other protections

The back protector is an element that protects the spine, a critical area for the motorcyclist when he falls, where he can suffer really serious injuries. With the trellises, you can prevent a silly fall from becoming a tragedy. The same happens with the cervical protection that are placed in the neck area. These accessories are becoming more accessible in price and more advanced in security. They are also improving in terms of comfort and ergonomics, so you have no excuse for not being well equipped.

Sunglasses

It may seem silly, but the bright sun is annoying when driving. Wear sunglasses to avoid glare. And if you normally wear glasses, let them be prescription. There are also smoked  screens for the helmet , but these must be approved. And above all, do not use smoked screen once the sun has gone.

Protection for motorcycles

We recommend installing crash pads and, depending on the type of motorcycle and the use you make of it, you can install additional protections for the crankcase and engine, lights and other parts of the motorcycle.
